Peak times or not, our dedicated servers and their underlying network infrastructure enable game companies to bypass common internet bottlenecks and deliver great online gaming experiences to player bases of all sizes.
We designed our network infrastructure so that your players can benefit from constantly low latency times, zero packet loss, and no saturation – especially during peak times are the results of overprovisioned 32+ Tbps network, real‑time network monitoring, routing adjustments, and the use of hundreds of networks interconnected through OctaServer’s global private backbone.
Our monitoring system constantly checks whether your game’s traffic is being routed through the best-performing path. Even in the most latency-sensitive scenarios, this ensures smooth gameplay.
Whether you’re running a smaller game or an MMO, your server stack is allocated a single bandwidth pool that you can scale to the size of your player base.
Since each game differs in resource usage, we offer both single and dual-CPU configurations, with varied RAM and storage options.
Gives you the ability to take full control of your server, as a root admin, you are given access to and the privileges to modify the root directory.
OctaServer’s global network is protected at the network level by always-on DDoS mitigation. We automatically detect and mitigate DDoS attacks on your infrastructure.
32 TB outgoing, and unlimited inbound data transfer with a 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps connection speed (comes standard) available across our entire fleet of global servers.
Each server comes with dedicated IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and you can buy and configure additional IP addresses if you need more.
We offer IPMI/iLO access to remotely access, monitor, and control your dedicated servers. You'll also get sensor information via IPMI.
Create private networks to run your services and applications in isolation on high-speed virtual private clouds. Note that traffic in a virtual private cloud is unlimited and unmetered.
A dedicated game server is a server that is hosted in a data center that is used primarily for hosting multiplayer online gaming that can be accessible to a customer worldwide. Remote users connect to this server to play a game together as a community. Servers for games can also be used to host related services such as email hosting or voice chat. You pay a fee each month to setup the server in the cloud at one of our secure data centers so that the server is online 24×7.
Every game and business is unique, so there’s no one choice that’s perfect for all projects. One server may be better suited for SSD disks, and another may need to store huge amounts of data, leaving SSD drives as an expensive option. If you request a quote, we can review your specific requirements and choose a dedicated server that is right for your project.
There are many games that you can host your own game hosting server. Some examples include:
7 Days To Die
Ark Survival Evolved
Arma 2: Dayz Epoch 1.0.6+
Arma 3: Altis Life
Arma 3: Exile Mod
Conan Exiles
Dark And Light
Eco
Empyrion: Galactic Survival
Minecraft
PixARK
Rust
The Forest
Unturned
Gaming servers are the perfect tool for building a community of players in the cloud.
Investigate which Operating System is required for the game you wish to setup a dedicated server for. Some game servers support a variety of Operating Systems, so you should choose the one you are most familiar with and that is most frequently updated. CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian are the most popular options when it comes to Linux Operating Systems. We also carry Windows Operating Systems.
WOnly some games allow you to setup your own game server. For example, Fortnite and Warcraft do not allow the installation of a remote server and as they host the servers that run the game themselves. For these applications, it would not be possible to setup a dedicated server to host the game.
